King Jeroboam was a man who started out with great promises from God. God promised him the control of a nation, an ongoing dynasty, and God’s abiding presence. All of these promises were conditional and dependent upon Jeroboam’s obedience. If he would simply obey God then he could trust that God would bring about the fulfillment of these promises.
