Psalms 139:7-10
Where shall I go from your Spirit?
Or where shall I flee from your presence?
8 If I ascend to heaven, you are there!
If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there!
9 If I take the wings of the morning
and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
10 even there your hand shall lead me,
and your right hand shall hold me.
For me, it feels like I’m holding up all of the juggling balls…trying to maintain everyone’s equilibrium – everyone’s sense of serenity… but from my own daughter’s mouth, “Mom, when you know that there is nothing you can do, there’s NOTHING left for you to do…”
There is nowhere I can go that He will not be there. There is nothing I can do that is beyond what He has already done. There is NO thing that He has not already covered… There is NOTHING left for me to do – except to love Him and BE loved by Him.
Whoa…for a doer…that is a hard truth to accept. What does it mean to not DO anything? How do I exhibit His love – when NOT doing? Oh. Maybe…maybe it is just BEING. How do I just BE – in His presence? How do I just REST – in who He is and what He has done?
Today’s meditation is simple…you are never beyond His reach, never beyond His touch, never beyond His love.
THINK ABOUT IT:
What have you been running from this past week? And to what, whom, or where have you run? How would it change your heart if you knew that He was ALWAYS beside you…waiting for you to run to Him? What have you been DOING that has prevented you from simply BEING in His presence this week?
ACTION STEP:
Lay it down. Write down the ways that you have been trying to sustain yourself and those around you. Take those items to the Lord and ask Him which are His assignment and which burdens you have taken on on your own. Then, finding your place of connection with God (nature, quiet, dynamic worship, soaking, study)…Ask the Lord to show you how you can reveal YOUR unique aspect of His character to those around you today.
What gift are you hiding behind your obligations? He is waiting…to reveal Himself…through you.
Love Him in You,
Karis
