Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6
Week 1– What does it mean to trust in someone? When we say we trust you we are saying we feel safe and secure that you have our best interest at heart. Trusting in God is saying we believe Him, feel secure with Him, and are relying on Him and His power. When we trust in the Lord with our hearts, we believe He knows best and His direction is always the right way.
Week 2-Gideon had to learn to trust God and was not afraid to have a hard conversation with God. Take some time this week to read Judges 6: 11-16.
Not once but twice Gideon questions God. “Pardon me, my Lord, if you are with us, why has all this happened to us?” Translation, if you love us and care why are bad things happening.
~I’m not smart enough
~It’s too risky
~I’m not big enough
~It’s just not my personality
~We are too poor
~I’m afraid
~I can’t do it by myself
~It’s too hard
~I’m afraid people won’t like me
Catch yourselves and each other (in a fun, non-accusing wayJ) and encourage each other in their capabilities and responsibilities.
Week 3-God used Gideon’s fear and hiding out as an opportunity to call out greatness in him. He wants to do this for us all the time, and we, as parents, husbands and wives, get the privilege to also call out greatness in our family.
I AM I HAVE I CAN
Week 4-Last month Pastor Jason taught a series over Confidence Toward God. It’s so good and I’m not just saying that because I am his wife.J
Confidence in God is not the same as confidence toward God.
In God-Believing Him, who He is, His word.
Toward God-My ability, my relationship with Him. Knowing God believe in me.
Did you know you not only need to believe in God but believe that He believes in you!! Below are some characteristics of Confident People. Take a look this week and talk as a family about some areas you are strong and areas you are weak in. Commit to each other to help them believe they are who God says they are.
