MH Clubhouse Little People + Big Impact @ HOME
Parents and families,
Thank you for giving us the privilege of teaching and loving your child today. Feel free to use this tool about today’s lesson to connect with your child during the week. We can’t wait to see you next Sunday!
- Memory Verse: “I will offer up to You, God, a steady stream of praise from my lips that celebrates Your name!” Hebrews 13:15
- Bible Words: Exodus 3 “Moses and the Burning Bush” Jehovah, Yahweh, I AM
- Possible activities to incorporate into your week:
Go on a nature walk. Help your child identify plants of all varieties. Talk about how plants need sunlight, water, and air to grow and thrive. God does not need anything to exist, yet He provides everything to us.
Sing (or find a fun version on YouTube, etc.) This Little Light of Mine. Talk about the burning bush Moses encountered. After experiencing God in this way, Moses was never the same. When we experience God, we are never the same either.
Talk about special names we give our friends and loved ones. Identify words written in special ways in everyday life (decals, logos, fancy fonts, monograms, etc.). Then talk about God’s special names. Jehovah and Yahweh remind us of I AM. God doesn’t need anything yet He gives us everything. God never changes. His special names help us understand more about His character, just like our special names reveal more about our friends and loved ones.
Using a candle carefully, show your child how the flame can change (by our breath, water, waiting, etc.). Talk about the burning bush Moses encountered. Our God never changes; the bush didn’t flicker and fade away.
Let your child explore different settings on a fan or your car’s air conditioner. Going from off to full blast, what we see, hear, and feel are very different. We can trust God and be sure of who He is. He doesn’t have lots of different settings; just one: I AM.
Review the memory verse. Make it fun! Sing, dance, chant, etc.
Hug it out! “I love you so much. God loves us, listens to us, and cares for us. Let’s talk to Him together.”
Prayer: Thank you, God, for always being strong and loving. You NEVER CHANGE. You are always God, Yahweh, Jehovah, I Am – the self-existent God,
who does not need anything and never changes. Thank you for being compassionate and not getting angry with us. You are always kind, tell us the truth, and forgive us. You are an awesome God, and we love you! Amen.
