“Do the Right Thing”
We always have the opportunity to do the right thing. The book of Jonah is a great example of how God gave His sons and daughters grace and never gave up on them. This week we will read about how God went to great lengths to send Jonah to Nineveh, because He loved them all.
Be a blessing to your mom today.

Nineveh was known for wicked things. They did not live for God and God wanted them to hear the truth and change the way they were living. Remember God hates sin but loves people.
Don’t make excuses.
God, we repent (change our mind and actions) of not forgiving and loving like we need to. We want everyone to know you and love you. Help us to see how we can love better.
We can’t hide from God.
Who do we run to? Who do we run from?
Storms are opportunities.
This was a literal storm on the water but we can relate anytime we have trouble or are going through something difficult.
The captain woke up Jonah and asked Him to pray.
Do you know someone who is having a hard time right now? What is something kind you can do to show them Jesus?
We can bring trouble or blessing.
God, I want to think before I act and consider who will be affected by my choices. Thank you for repentance that is a gift.
Celebrate when others get blessed.
God, I want to celebrate your love, compassion and blessings on other people lives. I do not want to be tormented with jealousy.
Here are some activities you can do with your children this week:
Ask everyone to step inside the closet. Remind them that we are going to pretend like we are Jonah in the whale’s stomach. We are going to use our senses to imagine how Jonah felt. With the light off, slosh the bottle of water. Ask the children what they hear? Take the top off the tuna can. What is that smell? Rotten fish?! Lastly have the children stick their hands in a bowl of cooked noodles. What could that be? Turn the flashlight on and see all the fun things that were used to recreate Jonah in the whale.
