6 Tips for Starting Your New Small Group Off With CCB!
August 30, 2021
1. Post a welcome message.
Go to your group in CCB. And click “Messages”. Click “New Message” and designate it to go to all participants. This will get the conversation started, and help people to get familiar with using the comments and message system in CCB.
2. Watch and respond to messages.
As new people are looking to join your group, they’ll send messages. As a group leader, you’ll get notifications for these messages. Be sure to check and reply back so users hear from you.
3. Track your Membership Requests.
Go to your group. Click the “Group Actions” tab, and then click “Edit Participation List”. Finally, click “Membership Requests”. You’ll see any requests that have come through on that page. Click the box to the left of their name and then click the dropdown “If checked, set group status to” tab. Then click Group Member.
4. Get familiar with the attendance feature on the Lead App.
For every group, you’ll take attendance with the Lead app. If you have any issues, Email us at info@mh.church.
5. Come up with a plan for sending messages.
One idea is to have a group leader send a message after each group with a question designed to get participants to interact or to think on what was discussed in the group throughout the week. Make it your own! One example is to ask everyone “What’s one thing you’ve felt God highlighting to you from this week’s group?”
6. Come up with a plan for encouraging attendees to post needs in your CCB group.
In order to get people to post needs, you may need to first tell them it’s an option in your group in CCB. Bring it up when you meet as a group. This can be a powerful tool for everyone in the group to be involved in praying for others who post needs. Try posting a need yourself as a test so you know how it works. You can always delete it once you post. Then, encourage your group to use it.
NOTE: You don’t have to use this feature. Only if it serves the purpose of your group. If you’d like this feature turned off for your group, let us know! There is a setting in CCB that can turn this function off.
